Herald Bookstore Work Readiness Training Program for Young Adults
Building Essential Skills for Success in the Workplace
Who is this for?
This training program is designed for young adults of all abilities (18 & above) who are eager to enhance their workplace skills and prepare for future employment. We aim to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where all participants can grow, learn, and gain valuable work experience together.
We will provide a 24-session training per term, 2 hours per training with an ABA evaluation system. To help the trainee move from beginner to advanced level.

Bookstore & Cafe Working Skill Sets
- Labeling price tags & marking item numbers
- Importing received new items
- Returning books (Pre-sorting & align books)
- Preparing mass mailing of promotional materials
- Preparing bookstore online sale packages
- Preparing hot tea (Oolong Tea/Jasmine Green Tea/Black Tea)
- Preparing hot coffee
- Preparing various kinds of freshly prepared beverages
Workplace Social & Communication Skill Sets
- Self-advocacy
- Resilience (self-regulation)
- Problem-solving
- Greeting co-workers and customers
- Effective interaction with co-workers & supervisors
- Respectful sharing and collaboration

Fee:$60/hr (2hr per session).
Once the student has been accepted, the session fee will be paid by check at the end of each month.
